Marvel Has Shot A Secret ‘Avengers’ Trailer Featuring Which Villain?
Two very cool, symbiotic pieces of news regardingJoss Whedon’s 2012 filmThe Avengershave just been revealed. According toAin’t It Cool News, Marvel has shot some kind of secret teaser trailer for the film that will either either be attached toThor,Captain America: The First Avengeror both. That’s not particularly surprising since Marvel likes to tack connective bits onto their movies. The big deal is the content. The teaser apparently reveals exactly who the main villain in the film will be. Want to who it is right now?Latino Reviewhas that info but we won’t spoil it here. Find out after the jump.
According to Latino Review, Thor’s brother Loki, played byTom Hiddlestonin the Kenneth Branagh film, will return inThe Avengersand appear as a threat in the aforementioned trailer reported onover at Ain’t It Cool News.
How does Loki fit in exactly? Well,we’d hear rumors that the Skrulls (and Loki too)would somehow fit intoThe Avengersand that’s apparently true. Loki, fromThor, will somehow gethis hands on the Cosmic Cube, fromCaptain America: The First Avenger, in order to summon the Skrulls, an evil, alien race who look like reptiles but have similar several human characteristics. If this is all true, and based on the reputation of the sources at both Latino Review and Ain’t It Cool News plus our earlier rumor, it probably is, then Joss Whedon is going to be giving usmore than superheros inGlengarry Glen Ross, he’s going to be directing superheroes battling evil green skinned aliens, a Norse God and an infinitely powerful cube in a full on battle to save the planet.
Mind = blown.
As promised, it’s all starting to link up. Personally, I’m excited to see how these Marvel movies begin to go away from the realistic toward the more fantastic. I love comic book movies where everything on the screen has to be real, but I’m dying to see something that’s totally out-of-this-world. Do you agree?
