‘Paul’ Featurette Offers New Footage

Just in time to combine forces with thetrailer released yesterday, there is a minor new featurette onPaul, theGreg Mottolafilm that was written by and starsSimon PeggandNick Frostas a couple of road-trippin' geeks who encounter a real-live alien, voiced bySeth Rogen.

There’s not a lot of new stuff here, but there is some minor info aboutKristen Wiig’s character, and a bit of explanation of what Paul has been doing during his time on Earth. I liked the footage we saw at Comic Con last year, and have been slowly warming up to the film a little more. I liked yesterday’s trailer a good bit, and this featurette helps fill in some of the story gaps while not giving away anything too spoilery.

The official plot synopsis:

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite for the comedy adventurePaulas two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For reasons unknown, the space-travelling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Collings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to returnPaulto his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.
