Screenwriters Hired For Third ‘Clash Of The Titans’
Warner Bros. is hedging its bets with theClash of the Titansseries. The first film — well, the first film in this current incarnation of the series — was directed by Louis Leterrier and earned nearly half a billion dollars worldwide despite becoming a poster child for terrible post-converted 3D. That was enough to put another movie into production right quick.
The sequel,Wrath of the Titans, is directed byJonathan Liebesman, and written byDan Mazeau,David Leslie Johnson, andSteven Knightwith story credit given toGreg Berlanti. Warners must be happy with how that sequel, now in post-production, is shaping up, because Mazeau and Johnson have been hired to write a provisionalClash of the Titans 3.
THRsays the third movie would once again featureSam Worthingtonas Perseus, and thatToby Kebbell, who appears inWrath of the Titansas Agenor, could well have a part in the third movie as well. (Spoiler: guess that means he lives!) I’m glad for that note, at least, as Kebbell’s work has been consistently entertaining.
The trade also says that producersBasil IwanykandPolly Johnsencould work on the third film and that Liebesman may be invited to direct. There are no deals set for any of those participants, however.
Wrath of the Titansalso featuresLiam Neeson,Ralph Fiennes,Danny Huston,Edgar Ramirez,Rosamund PikeandBill Nighy. It will open on June 05, 2025. We’ll likely hear whether the third film will be greenlit not long after that opening weekend. Here’s the story that we’ll see inWrath:
Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus.
