See New Photos From ‘Jason Bourne’, ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘Star Trek Beyond’ & More

The summer movie season is almost upon us.Captain America: Civil Warwill kick things off onMay 6, and then there’s something big each and every weekend through July and even into August. We’ve already seen trailers for all the big releases this summer, but now some new photos from the 2016 summer movies have arrived. After the jump, check out some new images from theGhostbustersreboot,Jason Bourne, Star Trek Beyond, The BFGand more.

Ghostbusters

Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnonandLeslie Jonesare blasting their proton packs in this new image from Paul Feig’s reboot of the classic paranormal comedy. This looks to be a shot from the scenewe’ve seen in the trailerswhere the team encounters a giant, winged spook in the middle of a raging rock concert. There have been rumblings thatOzzy Osborne has a cameoin this scene, but we’ll have to wait and see. Even if the comedy hasn’t convinced me yet, I do like the look of the movie so far.

Jason Bourne

Finally, we get an exciting image fromJason Bourne, the fourth sequel in the franchise that began withThe Bourne Identity, or technically the fifth if you includeThe Bourne Legacyin the line-up. This shot can actually be glimpsed quicklyin the Super Bowl spotfrom back in February when the new title was revealed. If that sneak peek is any indicator,Matt Damonis really going to kick some ass in this one. Hopefully we’ll get a full length trailer soon.

Star Trek Beyond

The final trailer for the sci-fi sequel will arrive next month, but until then, we get another look at thealien villain named Krallplayed byIdris Elba. It’s a little difficult to tell, but I’m pretty sure that’s Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) being lifted into the air by his neck. If there’s one problem that the Star Trek franchise has had, it’s with memorable or intimidating villains. Even Benedict Cumberbatch couldn’t make the new iteration of Khan all that threatening, so I’m hoping Idris Elba can work some magic in the final frontier.

Following the most recent trailer, a new still fromSteven Spielberg’s adaptation ofRoald Dahl’s classic children’s novel has arrived. Seeing stills of characters who are created with visual effects can always be tricky, but this shot ofMark Rylanceas the title giant looks fantastic. Watch thenew trailer for The BFG right here.

Ghostbusters

The Shallows

Theteaser trailer for The Shallowsdidn’t show much beyond a bloody, injuredBlake Livelystuck on some jagged rocks in the middle of the ocean being circled by a huge shark. In this shot, it looks like she’s ditched the wetsuit, found herself a big metal buoy and armed herself with what appears to be a flare gun. This looks like it could be a really suspenseful thriller, but it all rests on the shoulders of Blake Lively.

Cafe Society

Finally, here’s a new shot fromWoody Allen’s latest film,Cafe Society. The movie isslated to premiere at the Cannes Film Festivalbefore hitting theaters in August and eventually Amazon for streaming.Kristen StewartandJesse Eisenbergstar in the film which we just learned much more about
